Kim Soo-hyun Faces Additional ₩2.8 Billion Lawsuit as Advertiser Legal Battle Expands

On May 2, YTN Star confirmed that Company D filed a lawsuit against actor Kim Soo-hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, seeking approximately ₩2.8 billion (about $2 million USD) in damages. The complaint was submitted to the Seoul Central District Court on April 25.

Company D, which had a modeling contract with Kim Soo-hyun, stated it was forced to terminate the agreement due to the growing negative public opinion stemming from recent allegations about the actor’s private life. The company claims it can no longer maintain the partnership under such circumstances.
As a result, Company D is seeking compensation, asserting that Kim Soo-hyun and his agency are responsible for breaching the contract.
This development follows YTN Star’s exclusive report on April 29, which first revealed Kim Soo-hyun was facing lawsuits from two companies, with a third reportedly considering legal action. With this latest filing from Company D, it’s now clear that legal disputes involving advertisers and Kim Soo-hyun are rapidly escalating.

In March, Kim Soo-hyun was embroiled in controversy after rumors surfaced that he had been in a relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was still a minor. The allegations shocked the public.
On March 31, Kim Soo-hyun held an emergency press conference where he firmly denied the accusations. He particularly criticized the materials released by the deceased actress’s family on a YouTube channel, calling them misleading and manipulated, and announced legal action.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun filed a ₩12 billion (approx. $8.7 million USD) lawsuit against the family and the YouTuber Kim Se-ui. He also accused Kim Se-ui of violating the Anti-Stalking Law, prompting the court to issue a temporary restraining order against Kim Se-ui to prevent further harassment.
